From left to right are the main protagonists: Kounnosuke (the Rukian student whose role is a bit more central in the story), Hoshima (a young man living in a farming community who was accepted into Welchester Academy's Astro-Navy program - and who the story follows the perspective of), Saki (an eccentric cowgirl from just outside of the academy town, who has a rare ability of domesticating wildlife and monsters), and Abigail (Saki's pet slime and creature companion, with a tendency for curiosity as big as its appetite).
